On recommendation of a friend, I decided to take the plunge. I love this jacket. It's warm enough for typical New England winter days, and cool enough to wear in New Orleans on a chilly winter day there. It's easy to pack and looks good. What more can a down jacket do? If you're looking for a stylish, casual warm winter jacket, this is a great option!
My daughter has one of these and loves it. So when I started looking for a down jacket I tried on hers and bought one for myself. It is the best jacket. It is so warm when it is really cold and windy. I like that it is slightly shaped and a little longer in the back so when you bend over your backside is not exposed. The pockets inside hold my stuff when I am walking. I have room to wear a fleece or sweater under the jacket. It doesn't creep up when I am driving. And I don't look like a big marshmellow when I wear it. You did a great job with this jacket LL Bean.
I initially ordered the Medium (I am size 6 petite) thinking I needed the extra room for layering. But the Small fits better, even with a sweater underneath. Lovely aqua color (Coastal blue), soft & comfortable. I've worn it on a mildly cold day (40'), & this morning over a fleece sweaterwhen it was 22'. I think it would not be quite warm enough on a cold day by itself, but I'm "cold all the time."
I am a long time customer and fan of LLBean, however, this is my first time writing a review. This jacket is by far one of my very favorite LLBean purchases. It's extremely light weight and very warm. Perfect fit. I chose the blue because the black was not available in my size and it's gorgeous. Does not feel bulky at all.
