I really liked the fit and the color however the cuffs at the wrists were too loose and it would have been nice to have velcro closures to get a tighter fit. This would help avoid drafts. It was a light coat and I could not believe that it would be as warm as the desription said it would be.
I purchased this Ultralight Down Jacket about a month ago because I am planning a cruise around South America's Cape Horn in February and wanted something warm but not bulky. I am 100% pleased so far. This jacket is so comfortable to wear that I sometimes put it on indoors. For example, I often slip it on over a T-shirt while I am having breakfast before I leave for my morning workout, because I don't like to turn on the heat until I get back. The jacket doesn't get in my way any more than, say, a fleece jacket would. Then I leave for my workout and the Ultra- light keeps me nice and comfy even in weather in the teens. It has quickly become my favorite. And it still looks brand new after a month of almost daily wear.
I got this jacket about a month ago and it is AWESOME!!! It's very lightweight and not super bulky, but extremely warm!! I skied yesterday in 10-15 degree weather with a thin wool base layer and thin fleece under it and was plenty warm. I can wear it with just a t-shirt under it in fairly cold weather and stay warm too. I'm really excited to take it backpacking next summer, since it packs down so small! The price is really reasonable for such a high quality jacket...most others that are similar that I had looked at were at least $200-$300. Can't say enough good things about this jacket!! :)
I love 800 and 850 down! It's so lightweight and warm - like being wrapped in a nice warm cloud. The styling is nice; the stitching pattern adds a bit of definition, shape and femininity, which certainly beats the Michelin Man look! And the price for 850 down is a quite a good deal - because I'm always cold I own several 800 and 850 down coats and jackets so am well acquainted with pricing.
