I'm 5'2" and weigh about 120. I've always had a terrible time finding pants that fit me. I ordered the size 6 petite and they fit perfectly (a tiny bit loose, but I like my pants loose). These are the most comfortable (soft!), well-made, best-fitting pants I've ever had in my life. I've washed them and worn them three days in a row. This is also the best deal I've ever gotten for my money. I came back on line this morning to get one more pair and they are sold out of what I want. Please bring them back LL Bean!
I hate, hate, hate, buying pants. The process always reduces me to tears. Yet these pants are amazingly comfortable. I'm curvy, have muscular legs, and a long torso. if something fits around the legs it's usually gapping in the waist. It's a given that I have to get pants hemmed because I have short legs, so I can't comment on that. But these pants are so incredibly comfortable, and the rise is perfect. I can't recommend them highly enough, especially if you are someone with some curves and have trouble getting pants to fit you. I found the sizing to be perfect; keep in mind they will stretch a little bit after wearing them so try to resist the urge to size up if you are borderline. I have the brown and the rust colored ones. Would love it if LL Bean had this exact style of pants but in a heavier weight chino or even a dressier pant--I'd be sold and buy one in every color. Please don't change a thing on these! Women with muscles and curves have trouble with clothing! You've got a good thing here.
Despite the "negative" reviews regarding the "wide" legs. . I happen to LOVE the wider legs. They are so comfortable and fit great. I am 5'7" and ordered the size 10 Tall, and yes they're a tad too long, but I prefer them to be longer so when I sit down I don't look like I'm wearing cropped pants. They're also great with clogs #l.l.bean of course#. The sizing and proportions are spot on for my pear shape. You DO NOT have to size up on these. I actually have never owned a more comfortable pair of cords. . . EVER ! ! ! L.L. BEAN PLEASE don't change a single thing on these pants. . .ever. I HATE tailored , skinny , tight feeling pants. . .especially in the dead of winter. I need to be comfortable when it's freezing out. Quite frankly I think these are very flattering than most cords out there on the market. LOVE ! ! !
I really wanted these pants to work. They fit well in the waist and hips and the length was perfect for my height (size 6 Tall, for 5'8", 145 lbs). The dark loden was a nice shade of green and the pants were well-made. However, I agree with some of the other reviewers that the fit was way too wide in the legs, specifically in the hip to knee area. Because of this, the pants looked too baggy and a bit old-fashioned. I was disappointed that I had to return them as I'm finding it difficult to find a nice fitting pair of cords.
