Definitely the new sizes you designed for pants are quite bigger. I am 5'8" and I weight 145 pounds. My weight is stable and I usually wear 12 tall jeans but I had to exchange the two pairs I had ordered for size 10 tall which fitted perfectly (like my old 12 bought 3 years ago). They are great, confortable and very good looking! Do not hesitate to take a smaller size than your usual size.
Having seen many of the other reviews, I thought I would add my two cents...these are cut more generously than earlier versions of Bean's corduroy or velveteen jeans, but mainly in the waist/upper hip area. Relative to cords I ordered six or seven years ago (and still have), I'd say that the legs are similar in the thigh and length, but that the waist is both lower and wider. That fits my body type better, even though I am now between my old size (larger) and the new (smaller). I would like to see more colors available in the velveteen and the cord (forest green?), but am happy all-round. Ash is a pretty neutral, and I like the brown cord, although I would prefer a more subtle stitching in the latter. Great value.
I am 5'9'' tall and weigh 138 pounds. For me the fit is great, I like the way they hang straight from the hips and not too tight. Sorry you ran out of the other colors or I would have purchased more.
