I wear size 2 regular pants, but LL Bean doesn't make pants in size 2. So, I bought these in size 4 regular, because so many reviewers said that they were a snug fit. Well, they're a little baggy on me, BUT, the corduroy is so soft and the style is great, so I'm keeping them. I'll use a belt. The length is perfect for my 5'4" height. I would even buy another pair, but there are no more size 4 left. Still, I wish LL Bean would start making pants in size 2 for little girls like me.
I don't always wear a size 14 at Bean, but the Saturday cords, skirt and pants alike, work. I'm 5'5" but my width:length ratio makes the 14 petite just right. The hem skims the ground in sock feet, so it works with flats but will still be long enough for clogs (in the skirt a regular length is better, falling to the back of my knee). The waistband sits comfortably below the navel but high enough on the hip to eliminate fidgeting and fear of exposure. The material is pliable and stretchy, the color (red) vibrant without being too bright--a good winter color. And the price is very affordable, much below competitors'. I would buy these in the khaki if they weren't sold out.
The fabric is a little softer than I would have liked (like 'em sturdy) but these cords are so comfortable. The rise is just perfect too, not "mum" jeans but no plumber's show either! Nice boot cut and very flattering for a pear shape that doesn't need the "curvy" fit.
I am a fairly new customer so I carefully measured and considered sizes before ordering. I typically wear a petite and am very curvy (5'2" 140 lbs). After reading the reviews on the curvy fit of these pants, I opted for the straight cut. I ordered four pairs. One pair was the right length but the rise was so low they felt like pants a teenager would wear. There was also a huge gap in the waist. The other pair in a different color had the same problems but they came to my ankles. I am sure they were the wrong length. I was going to try on the other two pairs but decided this wasn't for me. Back they go!
