When I first put these jeans on, I felt that I couldn't bend over w/o exposing myself, but that's because I've been used to wearing higher fitting jeans. After I wore them around the house I found that I liked the fit. The straight fit w/ boot cut is very flattering on me. There's a little stretch in the jeans, as well, which makes them even more comfortable. I'm ordering my second pair right now!
I was really hoping these would work out, but alas they gape horribly at the back (and the front). They don't sit "lower at the waist" as described. Colour-wise they're perfect, but fit-wise they're terrible so they're being sent back straight away!!
These are typical good LL Bean quality, but for the first time, a size 6 Medium Tall was way too long for me. Otherwise, the fit was okay, and I like the soft blue color. Just could have used a couple of inches off the bottom. I am 5' 7.5" and weight about 123 lbs.
I really, really like these jeans - a little bit lower in the waist, no gap in the back, good fit overall.
What I did not like is the 'wear' marks that come on them (cat whiskers?) across the thighs as if they had been worn previously. I wrote Bean after receiving them (as I thought this effect was just lighting in the picture, not really on the jeans!) and asked if they had this jean without the enzyme wash (this is apparently what causes the light wear marks) as I'd really like to wear the jeans to work and looking as they do out of the box, I could only do this with a really long tunic top that covered the thighs and the whitish marks. Turns out they don't have jean without the built in wear marks unless you get black ...
so while I love the fit & style, I don't love the worn out look for something that basically cost $30 and is brand new -- I'd prefer to have them look new so they could be worn to more dressy places until I put the wear into them myself!
