I love these jeans - I am slightly heavier than I wish (16 Medium Tall) and find that Jeans with lots of lycra just make me look like a sausage! But these jeans hold in my stomach nicely while having a very comfortable wide leg. The pockets are terrific because they don't bag out when I sit down. They look great from every angle - and the light denim color is very pretty. I wish they came in more colors!
I recently received two pair of these great Corduroy pants. The grass is a darker green than shows up online, but are a beautiful and versatile olive-y green. The soft blue is a pleasant blue with the shade of faded denim. What I really must address is the fit, which has everyone commenting on them. These are Straight fit pants--for women like me with boyish figures--straight profile from waist down when looking from the front--curvy backside when looking from the side--that is my build exactly and that is exactly how these pants fit. I am 5'7" weight 115 with the exact measurements as the size 4 on the size chart. The 4 med-tall pants fit me perfectly--as if they were made for me. I think that the women who are finding the big gap in the waist in back might need to go with the curvy fit in these pants, in which the waist is more tapered and the hips are fuller. The fabric of these pants is a soft, fine wale, more lightweightish corduroy, with the right amount of stretch for bending and twisting without shifting of the pants or exposing too much in the back! They do not stretch out much during wear--just a slight loosening of the overall fit as any stretch pant does--and they do not get baggy in the knees at all. I am really enjoying this cords and would recommend them to anyone with the straight figure as described above. The soft blue is a beautiful color that will go with many tops, so I hope it sells out like some of the other colors have. I have not washed mine yet, but I expect them to hold up as well as any of the LLBean corduroy pants that I own, and I have at least a dozen pairs of their cords! I never fully dry my cotton pants--I always take them out of dryer slightly damp and carefully stretch them along the seams and hang them up using the clip skirt hangers to allow them to dry without creating fold lines. These cords are well proportioned and well made so they should hold up as well as all my other Beans pants have. Enjoy!
I loved the heavy weight of these jeans but the 6 long, which is my usual LLBean size, ran large. Also there is an extra curviness at the hips that made me look wider there than I am. I am thinking of sizing down to a 4 or trying the Saturday Jeans instead.
I do fit reasonably well but not perfectly in the size 6 medium tall cottage jeans.
