"we are very happy with the llbean pack. it is just the right size for the amount of things that they have to take to school these days. i like the stow away waist belt, to bring out w/ heavier loads. lots of compartments that are easy to access. my son is 5'11" at 12, and growing, this pack is perfect for him."

"I bought this great backpack when i traveled to Massachusetts during fall break and i really liked the backpack. It has numerous compartments for books and laptops and also many pockets which are very useful for a day's worth of stuff to carry. When i travel home during weekends, i can even bring a change of clothes let alone heavy textbooks.
I'm visually impaired so i don't need many printed books since all of them are digital unless i need tutoring. i'm very petite, so it is incredibly hard for me to find backpacs that are just the right proportion without overpowering me. by very petite, i'm talking about someone who is 5 ft and barely 90 pounds. All of the pockets are very accessible and are very useful for organization purposes, and I even carry the stuff that i use when carrying my purse. Overall, the backpack lasts very long and is still fairly new and in very good condition. if anyone is very petite like me, it would be better to look for a backpack of this kind. also the many pockets are very useful in order to organize your belongings + it is easier for someone to see where the stuff is placed."

It's the right size for moderate day hikes or as a carry on bag when travelling and has a thoughtful and useful selection of pockets. The outer slit pocket is a great place for a lightweight jacket and the laptop pocket works well with my 2-liter Camelback. Great design and value."

"excellent back pack! has all the necessary compartments to stay organized and not have your belongings roll around all over the bottom of your bag... 2 side mesh pockets allow for a water bottle and a coffee mug! superb quality, not heavy on its own... Im' Extremely satisfied, this bag is great for school, camping, or just helping you haul around your belongs to the places your life takes you :) oh and the laptop compartment is perfect! i have an over-sized 12 cell battery attached to my laptop, and it still fits in the laptop compartment ! I couldn't be happier!"

"Obviously a student designed this bag. Finally, someone figured out a way to hide those stupid (but apparently necessary) front dangly buckle thingys!! The padding is perfect for your laptop (or wine bottles) and it's light and comfortable to wear on long or short hikes. Seriously, give that designer a kiss for me!!"

"I'm very impressed with this backpack!
This backpack is an excellent choice for daytrips and short hikes. It has everything you could ask for. I think its got about 4 different compartments and some of those have smaller pouches and such within them.
A section for a laptop & mp3 player, two water bottle pockets and an "invisible zipper" compartment.
Its lightweight on its own and has good shoulder pads and extra strap for around the waist.
I really like this backpack very much. The only "improvement" I would suggest is to have a "velcro" fastener for the mp3 player pocket. The pocket is rather large and open on the top.
I bought this backpack for a trip I'm taking to Egypt and I think it is an excellent choice for excursions while I'm there.
I highly recommend this backpack."

"We took this pack on a trip through Napa Valley last weekend and it was terrific. It held up really well and we like the numerous pockets and zippered sections. It kept the "dry stuff" dry, and allowed a spot for our wine and wine glasses. On the flight out I put my computer and purse in the back section (both were adequately protected) and it was a great small "carryon" on the plane; negating a bag check, which saved me money! This bag met my expectations perfectly."

"I should have learned.....I always buy LL Bean backpacks for my kids, but this fall my son started high school and wanted one from the bookstore with the school name and logo on it. By the end of the first month the strap was coming off, and by Thanksgiving the zipper stopped working. Off we went to the LL Bean site.
He was looking for something big enough to hold all his stuff, but still be manageable. Outside mesh pocket for water bottle was a must, and at least 2 compartments so that everything didn't get shoved down to the bottom, never to be seen again until the end of the semester (or unitl Mom made him clean out the backpack). If there was a spot for his ipod and phone, that was a bonus. This pack has it all and more.
To top it off, several of his classmates,freshman boys who notice nothing fashion related unless it's cool, commented on the new pack.
This is a definite keeper. When it eventually wears out, I'll be back to buy the replacement. I learned my lesson."
