ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, an every day wear
This is one fantastic sweater. I bought one for my son in the late 70's or early 80's, and he wore it to death. It was warm, comfortable, and used in all weather successfully. He's hard on clothes, but this lasted for a very long time, and I've been watching and hoping Bean would bring it back. Lo and behold there it is, and that's one Christmas presant for my son. I know he'll be thrilled as he loved the first one.
LL Bean needs to address the construction of this sweater with the Norwegian manufacturer. There is too much fabric on the sides right above the waist band which causes a bulging out. I sent the first one back because it looked like I had a thirty pound inner tube of fat hanging on my waist. I just received the exchange, and the same problem exists. The good news is that my tailor told me she can easily take in the sides (which are machine sewn and not knitted) for $15. Otherwise, this is a great classic sweater which fits well everywhere else, and is certainly worth keeping.
MY COLLEGE FRIENDS AND I HAD THIS SWEATER AND LOVED IT ESP ON THOSE FREEZING DAYS IN WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY. STILL HAVE MINE, AND I BET SAID FRIENDS HAVE THEIRS- AND NOT ONLY AS WONDERFUL MOMENTOS OF OUR YOUTH!
