I'm a very finicky shopper when it comes to sizes because I am thin (35'' chest) and after reading some reviews claiming the the fit was "weird" I was a little hesitant, but I can assure you after buying this sweater that the fit is perfect, not too big and not to small.
The inch measurement is 40'' all around at the chest on a size small and the bottom tapers a bit. This is not a close fitting sweater, because it is not meant to be, but it certainly does not look odd, especially because it is a sweater and not a thin material like a polo. It is warm, very thick and durable, and it's made in Norway!.
I was so pleased to see the return of this rugged, beautiful sweater. My husband has worn out his original, but still wears it. We will never get rid of it either. The durability of this sweater is worthy of the price. To order I recommend one size larger.
Unfortunately, I have to agree with several fellow reviewers that this sweater -- even though a very good looking one -- does not fit well. It "balloons" around the waist and sadly, it will have to be returned.
