I was excited to buy this sweater and love the look, however, when I tried it on it just looked funny. I have a lean/athletic build. (6' tall/42R jacket/31 waist) In sweaters I border between a M and L size. The M size sweater was close to being too short in the sleeve. (I wear a 34" sleeve) The sweater was a bit long in the torso for me but not too bad. The primary issue is the bulge around the waist. It made my waist line appear as wide as my shoulders. The quality of the item is not an issue. It was just an awkward and unflattering fit. Unfortunately, I must to return the item because of the fit.
I bought one of these sweaters about 20 years ago. I still wear it. Often. It appeared that they were not available for years. However, when I found them in a recent catalog, because of the quality of the first, I bought a second. I highly recommend this garment. I work as a teacher at an outdoor therapeutic program for at-risk youth in the Appalachians and the sweater has kept me warm and dry for years.
Bought one of these > 20 years ago for my husband. He has worn it and I have mended it and mended it. Finally time to buy a new one. I was worried about earlier reviewers who said the fit had changed. It does not seem to have changed a bit. Looks great on him. There's nothing like wool!
