This is the classic; I have been looking for this since I wore out my original from the 1970's - it lasted forever and this one it is just as beautifully made.
I did pay attention to the other reviewers comments about sizes and I went with a medium - I wear a 44R blazer and the fit of the medium is perfect for me.
I loved the original Norwegian sweater that I had back in college in the late 70's. This sweater has a weird fit. Very billowy around the waist. I had to return it.

For those who are new to this style, we certainly hope you enjoy its traditional fit, but if not, of course we are happy to exchange the sweater for another item or refund your money, whichever you prefer. The dimensions of this "newer" version are exactly the same as the "older" one. The thing that I like about the new sweater is that it is 100% wool. Unlike the old wool/rayon blend sweater, this newer version "breathes". Huge improvement.
One ought to keep in mind that this is a "working" sweater. It is roomy, and that is how the warming (wind blocking) system works. Already, I have worn this sweater in cold, windy weather conditions and have done so in comfort. The roomy fit is no different than an "Irish fisherman's" sweater. If one is looking for a tight fitting "fashion" sweater, this is not it. This is a sweater for outdoor wear and outdoor activities.
I was very exicited to see this and ordered one immediately. Nice color/pattern and so nice to see it's made in Norway and not the usual source of most clothing. However, I found the fit issue described by other reviewers to be true. Chest, shoulder, and arms are great but the waist area is a big big problem. It balloons out just above the waist band with so much material it looks absurd. Very very disapointed but I will have to return it. No mattter how nice it otherwise is, fit must be right to wear it.
