This was a great knitsweater for outdoor runs in the brisk mornings nothing like it. The material is 100% wool this time around and you can actually feel the great quality of the sweater , I'm glad this sweater was brought back I'm really confused to the other reviews..
Although the material is nice and soft, the fit of this sweater is very poor. In fact, it's just plain weird. The body of the sweater balloons out at the side seams just above the bottom banded hem. This results in there being these two loose, floppy flaps of material sort of sticking out at the waist, making it look ridiculous.
I've purchased some great sweaters from L.L. Bean in the past, some of which I've had for years. Bean's sweaters have been some of the best around in my opinion and I had been waiting for this sweater to once again become available, but their current crop of sweaters that have been updated or re-introduced have been disappointing, and this one, regrettably is, too.
I bought one of these sweaters about four years ago when the price was in the $69-79 range and at that price point, it was a great buy. However, even though I wear an XL in most sweaters, the Norwegian Fisherman Sweater is oversized as an XL. The wool is rough, as another reviewer here stated and will need to be worn over a turtleneck or another shirt
I love this sweater and it is warm and tough, but it is NOT worth $129 and for that reason only recommend it to folks with deep pockets.
