THE SWEATER IS NOT THE SAME AS I HAVE 2 IN BLUE-RED FROM 10 YRS AGO,SO SAD THEY MADE IT CHEAPER,EVEN THE CUFFS!!!! WILL NOT BUY ANYMORE OF THESE,FISHERMANS SWEATER IS THE WAY TO GO FOR NOW,BOUGHT 2 FISHERMANS SWEATERS
After reading a bunch of reviews on this sweater, I agree with most of them on the fit. I order the same size, but, now the sleeves need to be rolled up so they don't flop over my hands. I am surprised there are not more comments on how the quality has declined over the years. So much thinner than before. If you don't believe me, I have several sweaters from years past and they are much heavier,especially the cuffs. I won't be buying another one till the quality returns.
I have purchased 6-8 of these sweaters for myself. I wore many of them while I was framing houses in the cold NH winters. They were fantastic. I always had a work model and a newer "Sunday best" one.
Unfortunately, there were changes that affected the quality for me. The cuffs and waist band used to be double thick. Now, thay have become a single thickness.
I would be delighted to purchase more of these.....if they were to return to the original format. I would be happy to pay more.
I am 5' 10" , 200 lbs & not fat. I wear a 44 in Sport-Coats, Suits, etc. I made the mistake of listening to all these reviewers complaining about the size & whining endlessly on how one must order down a size & went with that advice mistakenly & ordered a Medium, when I am always a Large...this is not the LL Bean Boot where one needs to size down. I happened to be wearing the Commando Sweater in a Large when UPS dropped off the Norwegian Sweater in a Medium. Like a little kid I couldn't wait to put it on, ripped off the Commando Sweater with it's nice, snug, but somehow relaxed fit, & happily slapped on the Norwegian Sweater in a Medium...sadness occurred along with expletives immediately. It fit as snug as the Commando Sweater on me. However, that sweater is cut for that look, not the Norwegian one though! I promptly ordered a Large & just came back from dropping the Medium one off at UPS. The sweater was not in my possession for more than two hours but boy was it beautiful & warm. Angry I didn't listen to myself. This is not supposed to be snug folks. I could have kept the Medium but this sweater is meant to be roomy, to trap warm air, & have the ability to layer significantly underneath. LL Bean & the world is full of snug sweaters...which with this one just looks downright wrong. Wearing my snug Commando now in a Large & love it but can't wait to get "The Norwegian Sweater in a roomy Large, the way this sweater is supposed to fit. Listen to me here folks, unless you are a very thin person, order your normal size & don't think twice. If a little billowing bothers you, then don't buy this fantastic sweater.
