I love this sweater. It's my favorite Bean product of all time. I've had several over the course of my lifetime and currently own one that is ripped and has holes in several places. I would LOVE to get a new one, but alas, L.L. Bean doesn't offer it in tall sizes as it did with the one I'm wearing now and the others I owned. I think that's a big mistake because there are a lot of big guys out there who are likely wishing they they could get this sweater too. I love that L.L. Bean re-introduced this sweater, but I can't give it five stars unless it comes in my size.
This is still a great sweater, but has gone through some cost cutting measures. The new version (I have both the old and new) had a thick double cuff and bottom hem whereas the new one only has a single layer. This makes them a bit less durable and probably lighter.

I have one of the earlier versions of this sweater (actually, 2, as there used to be a cardigan with pewter buttons) which after 20+ years is still in good condition. The new one looks to be the same - great fit, well constructed, durable and warm - a good all-around sweater - and still made in Norway! I like to wear this with a turtleneck. It is nice enough to go out in. As for fit, I have the large in both the new and previous versions which fit nicely - I am 6'1" and around 190; wear a 35 sleeve.
