I ordered this bag for my 7 yr. old daughter for Christmas. The bag looks great (love the pink island print) but the shoulder strap is padded, and thus very stiff. This may not be an issue at all, but when you sit the bag down, the strap is stiff and sticks up or out. My main concern with the bag is the clasp; it is difficult for me to open, my daughter probably won't be able to open it at all. (I won't know until Christmas!) It is not the typical squeeze on the side clasp; this one you push down in the middle.
I bought the medium size bag for my daughter who is in 7th grade. The bag is wonderful! It has so many different pockets and storage areas for her books, folders, supplies, and personal items. She is able to put all of her items inside without the bag looking too bulky. It looks very nice the quality is great!
This is a great bag for either an iPad or notebooks for class. Also I use it as a day pack when I am walking the Fall Festivals with or without my dogs. The colors are also very nice. Would like more inside pockets in the main compartment. Great outside pockets for phone and water bottle.
Great quality and perfect size for my 6th grader. We ordered the Pink Batik Island and were disappointed with the solid black color chosen for the strap and back/bottom side of the pack as it didn't really compliment the pink and blue batik. A navy blue solid color would have been better - we thought that was what was pictured (dark navy). My daughter likes it enough to keep it because the size is perfect and she loves the batik.
