The "Easy-Care Chambray" shirts are a big disappointment. They are not soft or comfortable like the former LL Bean Cotton Chambray Shirts. These new "Easy-Care" shirts are not made for people who work with their hands and want to feel comfortable in their clothes. These are made for people who care more about how they look, than how they feel. Get the old ones back!
The wrinkle resistance is too smooth, not soft enough to my skin. I want the classical chambray back!!! It is hard to find classical chambray anywhere nowadays.
This seems a well made shirt, as most Bean items are. I like the tag of the same material and sewn in on four sides so it lies flat. A nice touch. I don't like the material and some other details of construction. To be fair, I didn't want easy care but there is no option to get "old style" chambray as far as I can tell. When my wife first saw it she asked if it was oxford cloth. It is too shiny, too smooth, the collar and cuffs have too much structure, to be a classic chambray work shirt. If you like a somewhat dressy, new style shirt, this is for you. It would just be nice if there was another choice. I have several Bean chambrays of the old style that I have worn to shreds. I wish I could get more.
