We bought these for my son's girlfriend and she was thrilled with these adorable cuddly slippers. From our perspective - 8 to 81/2 shoe size should purchase a size 8 not a 9. They are generously sized and again, absolutely adorable
I wear a size 6-1/2 shoe, and most slippers come only in full sizes. 7's are usually sloppy on me. I was a little concerned about the fit, but ordered the 7. The slipper was a tad loose on arrival, but I tightened the laces slightly, and they were perfect! A size 6 would have been tight in the toe, so glad I did order up. They are toasty warm, very comfortable, and judging by the construction should last a very long time. I am not sure about cleaning them, will need to call about that. I would recommend them highly!
I've been buying, and LOVING, these same "wicked good" slippers from L.L.Bean for many years! The fit is perfect, they are cozy and warm, they are very well-made and durable, and their look is classic. Because of the price, I only buy them every second or third year, and they wear well until then. Of course, the inside foot bed gets a little squished by then, but that is to be expected. This year I tried on many other slipper brands - expensive shearling ones, and trendy expensive ones - but not one was as comfortable as these. I have foot and leg problems, so coming home to slip into these is a real treat. Just don't wait too late in the season like I did if you want a choice of colors. By January, all of the colorful ones are sold out.
I love these because they are so warm and so comfy and they have a hard bottom which allows me to wear them outside when I'm feeling particularly cozy. The only problem is that the top of my foot gets SO cold when I wear them without socks because they only cover part of the top. I wish they made a pair of slippers similar to these that were booties that went to the ankle. They'd be super cute AND super functional!! I know they have other bootie slippers, but none of them have hard soles that allow for traction inside and protection outside the house.
