I am sad to say that I am - after 20+ years of shopping with LLBean and (at least) 3 pairs of wicked good slippers (not to mention several other pairs bought for friends and relatives), disappointed with my most recent purchase.
First the good things:
The sole has definitely been improved and seems much more robust. Time will tell.
The colour (I went for Navy for a change) is lovely.
The bad things:
The quality of the sheepskin (in this case Australian lamb ... ) is nowhere near as good. The fur is not as luxuriant as it used to be. The "collar" of fur on the upper of the slipper is thin and in some areas along its sewn edge almost bald.
The fit is not the perfectly snug "hug" I am used to from this product.
As soon as I put them on I thought, "Oh no! What have they changed?"
Has LLBean changed the supplier of their skins for this product because it is markedly inferior to all the previous pairs I've owned?
I wasn't sure what size to get for these slippers because I wear a solid 91/2.. I ordered a size 9 and I am really glad I didn't get the Size 10. They were a little squished at first but after wearing them a while they are fine. The quality of the slippers is excellent and they are so warm and comfortable. Awesome to come home and put these slippers on after a long day at the office.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
Wicked Good is exactly what these slippers are. I am in my 60s, have a bunion and corns. I don't feel them when I am wearing these. They are toasty warm and comfortable all day long. I WILL purchase them again.
At first these slippers were slightly big but after wearing them in a little they started to mold to my feet, I also like to wear socks with them occasionally which is no problem. Super comfy and warm. Definitely would recommend them.
