I have always LOVED the LL Bean Wicked Good Moccasins since they are so warm and durable that they've each lasted for a few years of constant use. Plus, they had this really good vanilla smell that never wore off!
I usually buy myself a new pair every Christmas and have noticed a change in the quality over the years such as the latest version doesn't have the "Wicked Good" vanilla scent, there is too much wool outside the shoe instead of inside, the wool wears down faster inside, the ties are coming undone more often and sometimes the shoes come dyed two different shades of the same color. This isn't the quality I'm used to in LL Bean products, especially since the price of moccasins went up $10 this year (probably because they are now "trendy" to wear)!
As cozy and as durable that the moccasins may be they really lack any arch support and cushioning in the heel so my feet hurt a lot at the end of the day. It's a shame because now I only wear them around the house, because standing in them for more than 10 minutes really is too painful.
I will not be buying another pair next year if there is no arch support. It's not worth the money anymore.
I gave my oldest daughter & our exchange student each a pair for Christmas 4 years ago. They both loved them for the warmth & comfort. My daughter wore them all of the time at home & college. I bought myself a pair last year & my younger daughter a pair & none can compare! I gave my older daughter a new pair for Christmas this year. My husband also loves LLBean slippers! Recommend to anyone. The only drawback is the ties do not stay tied, but I superglued them & they stay tied.
I LOVE these slippers. My Mom has a pair and I always wear them when I visit her so I finally saved up my $10 gift cards from Christmas and bought myself a pair. They were great - comfortable but sturdy. They do run a little small so I ordered up a size. Unfortunately my dog loved them too. Came home from work and they were chewed to pieces :( Be sure you put yours up out of harm's way!
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
Wear them all the time, even outside to get the mail, take the trash to the curb, refill the bird feeders (thanks to the rubber soles.) The only complaint I have is the shoelace tie frequently comes undone. I'm thinking of putting a drop of crazyglue on it or something. But even with that slight annoyance, these are FANTASTIC slippers that keep my feet toasty warm. Love them!
