I ordered my 5th pair of moccasin's and was so disappointed when I put them on. They are not made with the same quality. My old moccs' were strong and very fleecy. I wear them all the time inside and outside. The new ones seem very flimsy and the fleece is not the same. I am returning them because they are big on me, unlike the old ones that start out tight then loosen as I Break them in and they just are not as comfortable. I don't think they would last very long with my every day usage. So Disappointed!!
The previous sole was more flexible than the current offer.
I have worn these exact moccasin slippers since I was in college. Twenty some years later, and with only a few replacements, they remain the WARMEST, DRIEST, COMFORTABLE slippers ever! So why am I returning these? I find the change in the sole too uncomfortable. I accepted the flexible rubber sole that was added to the last pair I purchased, (previously sole was leather true moccasin) but found it uncomfortable when I curled up on the sofa with my feet tucked underneath me. So, I kicked them off, donned wool socks and accepted the change as I truly appreciate the warmth these slippers provide my cold feet and base of my ankle. The rubber sole did afford me to luxury to wear the moccasins outside to get the mail, feed the birds etc. but then I couldn't wear them curled up on my furniture. If it weren't for the additional thickness and traction of the "improved" sole I would keep them. Instead I will move consider a move back to the once-received-by-mistake-but-kept boot moccasin. They are snug on my ankles but are more comfortable for my cold feet and curling up on a cold winter's night than another's product. LLBean makes excellent and reliable products, these moccasins included. I just don't care for the continuous changes to the sole. If I wore them outside regularly I would appreciate the sole, it is thicker, has traction and provides more cushion. It sadly doesn't meet my needs after so many reliable years. I will truly miss wearing this product...
Note in the photograph that the last pair I ordered arrived as not matching... The wool on the right slipper was not as nice and cut short. It didn't matter to me at the time as I knew the product was good and sheep hide is unique. I just wanted the new pair so much I immediately wore them. Had I known what I know now, I would have returned them for a better matching pair for as you can see, they are in pretty good shape! I may hold off on exchanging the two(!) new pair I received for the boot moccasins.
i have worn these before in a 9, and my Mom in a 10. They say to order one size UP. Well, my Mom ended up taking mine because mine were so large they fit her. They really need to do something about the sizing issue. It causes lots of returns, and had I not had an LL Bean credit card for free returns (this time they were gifts), I would not risk ordering another size. Please do something about this issue. Otherwise, these are super warm and comfy mocs!
I am a true size 8, and these fit great. I didn't need to order up. I also tend to have a narrow foot, and these feel snug and don't fall off. It took me a minute to figure out which foot they belong on. The tags go on the arches of the feet. It's hard to figure out at first. Great slipper and very comfy.
