These slippers are true to size and are very warm and fuzzy. The soles are so much better than last years, and these should last for a long time!! Great slipper.
I bought these in blue for my wife for Christmas 2011 and they were fantastic. She wore them out over the next year and it was time for new ones. So we bought the same ones (except in "natural" color this time because the other 4 colors have been out of stock since december and i was NOT about to wait until their next posted availibility of MAY!!! (This is a seperate, but major issue :( )) But when the new ones arrived this time I immediately noticed that they were of lesser quality materials. The leather upper was now made from a nearly paper thin piece of leather, whereas in 2011, they were of a thicker, more substantial, more sturdy, cut of leather that was more of the same weight and quality that you find in a baseball glove. This fact then only magnified my displeasure that the 2013 PRICE had gone UP $10 from $59 to the now $69! I had accepted the fact that prices occaisionally go up, but once I knew that cooresponded with a reduction in material quality, I was NOT a happy camper. Lastly, the shearling liner too was markedly less thick than before. But even still, my wife loved the previous pair so much and used them a lot that i sucked it up and we kept them. The final straw came not even a WEEK later when that cheap, thin leather tore a big hole in itself and tore away from the rubber outsole, as my squatted down to grab something. And so, I CANNOT RECOMMEND this product for all of these reasons. We have since returned them and my wife is willing to try out the Hearthside slippers this time around, so we'll see.
How these slippers get consistent five star ratings baffle me. Yes, they are super comfortable and they are very warm. They feel delicious on my feet. But dear goodness - the laces! They drive me batty! They are constantly coming undone, even when I pull the leather tightly. I'm seriously contemplating super glue. As far as I can tell, they're just decorative, so why LL Bean didn't make them so they can't come undone is beyond me.
After a couple of years of daily wear I had to replace Mom's "wicked good" moccasin slippers. When these wear out I'll get her another pair. She loves them. Maybe I'll get myself a pair as well!
