I am very distressed to learn that these great leather and fabric boots are being discontinued for women's sizes. Had some and loved them. An eyelet tore loose, so I brought them back for repair, and went to get another pair--but none in my size. So I decided to wait until a new shipment came in....and now I find out that will be NEVER! I should have kept the defective ones and had them repaired by a shoemaker. I too wish they would bring back the black ones. (luckily I bought 2 pair when they were available.) I wear them constantly. With a little shoe polish, they are perfect for travel dress up with pants--and also for hiking when I get there!
Mt daughter has these boots and loves them. The problem is she cannot wear them for work and needs them in black. Can you please let me know if you will ever have them in black? Thank you for your help. Anyone thinking about purchasing these boots, go for it you won't be sorry....
I bought these shoes in December 2015, and love the 11N. They fit well and my long narrow foot doesn't slide around in them. However, while hiking this summer the inside top hooks started bending out, essentially opening, so much so, that they caught on the loop of the opposite lace and tripped me a couple of times. I asked llbean if they could repair the boots and they said "no" but replaced them. I was thrilled. Now, after two wearings, the hooks have turned out AGAIN. I took them to my cobbler, and he doesn't have the right hardware. My husband tried to crimp them a little, but I'm afraid of weakening the metal even further. Very disappointed.

my LB boots are not new, they look old and ragged; they are over ten years old. they traveled many places, over rugged boulders, mushy mountain trails, and too many off mountain trails. And after all the rugged miles, they remain waterproof, comfortable, and no blisters. I do remember shopping for these boots; i went to every store, sports store, shoe store, etc, looking for boots to fit my small feet; that would not slip; and it was the LLB Store that took the time to ask me questions and I found out after trying on all the boots it was the socks I that made the fit. But it was the LLBean staffer that took his time and encouraged me to invest in a good pair of hiking boots. So it has been ten plus years and the boots are still treking...
