I very rarely write reviews, but after putting these boots through some intense hiking and having them perform beautifully, I feel I have to.
Yesterday I hiked two high peaks in NY. It was an 11 mile, 3,300 vertical foot hike through rain, snow, drastic temperature changes and 50 mph winds at the top. The trail was muddy and miserable, but when I got back to the car, my feet were completely dry and blister free! My two hiking mates were completely convinced they needed to invest in their own by the time we got down the mountain.
One of my favorite parts of these boots is how they cradle my feet perfectly, so when descending the mountain, my toes aren't squished against the front of the boot at all.
Additionally, they have what I call "monster truck" tread, allowing me to walk right up rock slides my hiking companions have to scramble up using their hands.
They're also insanely comfortable, and I didn't have to break them in at all.
I can't say enough good things about these boots. I've had them for a little over a year, they've been up 12 peaks and they're good as new. Can't wait to put many, many more miles on them!
My only problem is how heavy they are. Tires your feet out. But super quality, they look and fit great. Roomy for extra thick socks. Comfortable. The best boots i've ever owned and worth every penny. They will last years, if not decades!
I bought these boots to be used as my primary footwear last summer. I worked on a trail crew in the Adirondacks where I spent 5 days a week for 10 weeks in the back-country doing intense physical labor in any and all conditions. Not once did my feet get wet, except when I stepped in water well over the top of the boot. When the insides did get wet, all I had to do was take out the insole and squeeze out the water and let them sit out over night and they were nearly dry the next day. They are so comfortable and don't take any time to break in. From day one I loved them, and they survived the whole summer! I plan on using them again this summer too. The laces got a little beat up, but I replaced those. All in all, amazing boots. I would recommend them for anyone! Especially if you're working outdoors.
