ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
What can I say better than the first pair lasted me 18 years and didn't owe me anything! I wore them everywhere - across the college campus in January, in Northern Minnesota in January below 0 degrees and my feet were never cold. I went through mud and water and my feet were never wet and they cleaned up like a dream. It broke my heart to have to replace them. Just as the first pair, this new pair is perfect right out of the box. I'm so grateful LLBean has made them available. These new ones have the Vibram sole, so I expect even longer use of them.
I was so excited to finally find a pair of backpacking boots in a narrow width. Sadly, when these arrived, the so called narrow width was wider than most regular widths. I don't get it...why say it's narrow when it's wider than most mediums? Why not just say they sell medium, wide, and extra wide?
Sorely disappointed in this product, waiting for my refund, expected more from LL Bean.
I've been wearing these boots for five or six years pretty much everyday as an NPS Law Enforcement ranger. I go through a pair every six months. They look nice, are comfortable, give me good traction over varied terrain and support my flat feet, floppy ankles and have roo for custom orthotics. They also will take a nice shine. I've recommended them to many folks both inside and outside the Service.
My one thing would be the price...but no foot no horse and my feet really like these boots.

These are the most comfortable boots I have ever had in my 30+ years of hiking. They are solid on rocks and on trails in general. I keep them well oiled so they are very water resistant. I would recommend them to anyone.
