These shoes were comfortable straight out of the box - no break in period required. I am a student and find myself having to make long walks across campus. These boots performed beautifully in the rain, snow, and cold. Please keep these in stock!
I bought these boots for fall/ winter hiking. After just 18 miles total on the AT, two grommets popped off, so the boots didn't lace up properly. I ended up with a big blister on my left heel. I thought these would be better quality. Definitely sending them back and getting a refund.
I've had two pairs of these boots over the past 10 years and I love them. You can literally take them out of the box and wear them on a hike the next day. I have never had a blister (I wear wool socks and liners) and always feel stable and secure. I've waded streams with these boots and gaiters and was the only one with dry feet at the end of the day. This is a GREAT boot!

My boyfriend recommended these because he has the men's version. He is an avid hiker. They are great quality boots.
However, I disagree with those who said they didn't need any breaking in. I wore mine around the house for 3-4 hours and then hiked the next day. While they were very comfortable in the feet, the cuffs (top of boot) are very stiff and I had bad shin bang (pain & swelling) from the cuff putting pressure on my shins.
By the 2nd hike, they were fine.
Be sure to wear thick hiking socks like Smartwool socks.
Size: I am an 8.5 but can sometimes wear an 8. I got these in an 8.5 and they fit great with thick wool socks.
