ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
I LOVE these boots! I have tried every brand out there with a lot of pain and blisters over the years to show for it. These were comfortable right out of the box 8 years ago and have held up like nothing else. True quality, totally waterproof and sturdy. I recommend them to everyone I know. I have worn them on everything from short jaunts to multi-day mud-soaked, river crossing backpacking treks. Thank you LL Bean for making the best boot ever! Now please just make them in low cut as well because I would buy them in an instant.
I thought these boots were a little heavy for a hiking boot, but then again they are leather so that is understandable. My biggest issue was how squeaky they were! I purchased these boots to wear everyday, whether it be in the office, on a construction site or through the muck. I can't imagine listening to the squeak all the time! I know the leather is new and they are not broken in but I didn't want to take the chance that they might not break in quickly, or at all... Unfortunately I had to return these before giving them a real chance as I knew I couldn't return them once worn. They did seem like they would've been comfortable....

I currently have TWO pair of these boots and they are the best I've ever owned. We do a lot of hiking both at home and abroad. The only thing that would make these better is if they had a rubber coated toe so they are not alway scuffed-looking.I also wear them for long walks on the beach and have to polish them a lot.
These boots are great! Fit better than any I have ever worn before. Nice roomy toe box. Sturdy and well made. My husband is surprised by my continual comments about "loving my boots" - he did not know I could get so excited about hiking boots.
