These boots are amazing. I usually buy a different brand, however. these boots out performed them hands down! I wore them two days to break them in and then proceeded to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where they met, snow, sleet , and deep puddles. They never skipped a beat. My feet stayed dry, warm and comfortable the whole trip.
I love these boots! I kept reading that they were "out of the box" comfortable and I can attest to that. No need to break them in. They are a little heavier than I've been use to in the past but the over all sense of protective sturdiness makes that pretty much ok with me! The ankle support is supurb without rubbing holes in your skin! Buy them, you won't be disappointed!
I almost gave up on these boots before I gave them a chance. I've hiked in them twice now after adding SuperFeet inserts and Smartwool socks - they are now my favorite boots. The second hike was just after a snow so the trail was not just occasionally icy but mostly very muddy. My feet were dry at the end and they didn't hurt!!! I'm glad I gave them a chance.
LL Bean - with it's 100% guarantee - was standing behind the product by telling me to take them outside to test and they would return my money if I wasn't happy. They even sent a different style for me to try. The second pair has been returned and my Narrow Width all leather hikers will remain my favorite.
