I bought these boots for hiking because of the incredible ankle support. I have no more ankle probems when I hike now and these boots really breathe, your feet don't feel sweaty like other non-leather hiking boots. I am now also using them to shovel snow too. You can stand in the snow in these when it's 14 degrees for hours and your feet never feel cold.
I just wore my new Cresta boots--wow! They fit like a glove. I did not realize how worn my old boots had become after hundreds of miles of hiking and backpacking, snowshoeing, etc. I will never buy any other boot as they accommodate high instep, high arch, have toe space, and support ankles! They are also my winter boots.
I purchased these boots around 9 years ago. I have had water over tops in creek beds. They fit better with every year. I have had them to the tops in mud while offroad in my FJ40. A little spray from the waterhose, polish the scuffs and cuts in the leather, and add some new shoelaces and insoles and away we go. Since I have been married they aren't stylish enough for my wife but they get pulled out every chance I get. Great in the snow with a pair of wool socks. The best investment in boots you will ever make.
I am on my third pair of these boots. They are soft as slippers right out of the box and I wear them on my 1 and one half hour walk on a hilly trail. I wear them throughout the summer and through the iciest and coldest winter day. My feet stay dry and comfortable. When I've worn a pair to shreds I then use it for gardening--keeping the mud and weeds out of my feet. I simply love these boots and strongly recommend them. Worth every penny!
