I have worn Cresta Hikers since 2001. I bought them for hiking but they are so comfortable that I wear them as my everyday shoes, and have done so ever since my first pair. I wear them to church, and wore them to the office, and even when in court practicing law. Even old pairs remain waterproof. Last fall I was on a hike in a canyon just after a flash flood and had to cross a stream repeatedly. My boots were full of water for 6 hours. They dried up and show no deterioration from this.
My one regret is that LLBean has discontinued making them with tan suede leather. The suede does not show scratch and scuff marks the way the dark brown boots do. I hope that they bring back the roughout version. LLB, are you listening?
i,ve been wearing the gore tex hikers for over 10 years ,its a excellent boot,then i couldn,t get it anymore,,,then i switch to the gore tex cresta hikers,beautiful boot ,warm,comfortable,light weigh,,i work outside and i can tell you these are the best boots i,ve ever had, ian from new york
I've literaly never worn something as comfortable as these boots. I wear them all the time and for just about any activity. I had to create an account just to comment on these boots. I didn't know something could feel this great on my feet. I will never buy something cheap after knowing how good of qualitiy something like these are. They do require some break in time but once they are you won't want to take them off. I actually look forward to putting them on in the morning. Its like I was living in a dark world of shoes before these came along. Night and day difference. I should go buy another pair before they change them. They are a bit pricey but wait for a sale or use gift certificates because they are worth every penny! I've never been so happy about anything I've bought like i am with these. Scary I know but wow!
First winter wearing them, but so far they seem like great boots. Fit well, stay dry, are good quality. Expect to be enjoying these for years hiking and in the winter.
