I wear a size 11B and it's almost impossible to find in a boot, LL Bean offers two brands this year that have it.
I first ordered the Men's Gore-Tex Mountain Treads boot but returned them due to a a snug almost form fit.
These boots are keepers, finally a proper fit!
A boot should have a snug heel along with a large toe box that accommodates your toe spread while walking. US Army combat boots, (my footwear for many years) are made that way.
These boots have a similar fit, roomy toes and a close fitting heal. They have a full nylon type lining, a rare extra, the inner seams are smooth making a comfortable fit. The leather seems to be high quality which means a longer break-in period to soften the bend areas. I'm guessing about 50 miles and i'm only half way there but they are starting to give. I use Needsfoot oil as a leather softener during the break-in period.
Leather footwear should not be worn daily, so you really need two pair to change out if you use these for work boots.

I recently finished a three-week trip on the John Muir Trail wearing these boots, and they were fantastic! With one-day's break-in, I wore them every day for three weeks, covering 165 miles with a 50+ lb. pack, with nary a hot-spot and no blisters! They provided excellent support, were completely waterproof, had excellent grip, and were totally comfortable. These are the most comfortable boots I've ever owned; I recommend them whole-heartedly!
I would have paid $1,000 for these boots. I wear them all the time and when I am not wearing them, I am thinking about wearing them. Insanely comfortable and supportive, stylish and sophisticated, there has been...and will never be a better hiking boot. Got them in brown, now onto black.

I've looked at and wanted these boots for years but they were a bit out of my price range but when Bean's offered 20% off plus a $10 gift card how could I refuse?
I knew after inserting one foot into the boot before I even laced it that these were going to be special and they are.
They fit perfectly and are extremely comfortable right out of the box. Ankle support is superior as well as every aspect of the quality of workmanship and materials used to produce this boot. They even give you an extra pair of laces.
The quick lace hooks are well designed with the lowest one being slightly tighter to hold the laces tension when retying...
I'm thrilled with these boots and didn't think you could buy anything this good anymore without taking out a second mortgage
These are so wonderful I'm going to have to buy another pair just in case they stop making them or selling them.
