The boots are worth 5 stars but the green laces are junk. Save yourself the time of not switching out the brown laces for the green ones. The end caps came off my laces and the green woven strands slid down the white strand core. The woven white core then unraveled.
Otherwise, the boots are comfortable, the soles are durable and the boots fit well for someone who has very wide feet.
I really wanted to like these boots - especially since they are so highly rated. I have logged nearly 100 miles in these boots over past year+. This is a rock solid boot and very well made but they take a long time to break in - I would say ~ 40 miles. That wasn't really a surprise and I wouldn't downgrade the rating of the boot for that - just be prepared! But one issue that continues to nag me about this boot is that the tongue is not as tall as some boots. I find that over the course of the day, going up/down hills that the shoelace can slide over the top of the tongue and begin to cut into my leg. This is quite annoying and this is why I need to downgrade the rating from a 5.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected, very waterproof
I have been wanting to write a review of these boots for the two years since I first purchased them. As far as I am concerned they are first rate. They fit extremely well and are true to size. I have worn these boots to hike in the Alps, the Sierra's, the White Mountains as well as working in the woods as a forester.
The thing I most love about these boots is their comfortable fit and the fact that they stay dry in all conditions, especially in snow.
These boots are extremely durable and I have recommended them to a number of other people. Please continue to import them from Europe!
