I am on my 4th pair. First pair was purchased in 1998 and lasted well over 10 years, till they started to fall apart. I actually still have them around for a "backup" boot. I purcahsed a second pair to replace them, and the boots were just as amazing as the first, very comfortable, great fit, amazing all around, except, one of the lace hooks broke off. LL Bean is wonderful with their returns. I sent them back they send me a new pair, and the same lace hook broke off. Even with the lace hook borken, I still was able to hike Blue Mnt. in NY with plenty of water, mud and rock face. Boots were amazing, no slips, completely waterproof and comfortable. I am waiting for my 4th pair. These boots are so good, I will keep exchanging till one doesn't break. Hopefully third time is the charm.
I had a Scoutmaster who swore by Cresta Hikers, so when I was looking for a new pair of boots earlier this year, I bought a pair. Not only do they fit as if they were custom-made, they are exceedingly durable. I just got back from a week-long trip to the San Bernardino Mountains, the first real test I've given these boots. Passed, with flying colors.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
Bought these for Christmas and did some casual walking in them prior to embarking on a 4 day 40 mile backpacking trip. They fit the moment I put them on. It was as if I had worn them for 6 months. During the trip, I was the only one of 10 men that did not have any problems with my feet. My feets stayed dry despite 2 days of solid downpour. They are the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected, the best
I am on my 3rd set of Cesta Hikers not becasue of shoddy workmanship but because I just plain wore them out! I bought my first pair in 1988 for $89.00. They are comfortable out of the box. I have hiked the Grand Canyon in them to Angels Landing in Zion National Park and through the mud and water of the Paria River Canyon (to name a few hikes). They offer support and stability and clean up nicely after a rugged hike.
