I've only just received my Cresta Hikers, and already know they are A DREAM COME TRUE! I don't think of my feet as particularly skinny, but I NEED a narrow width boot to fit properly. Standard with boots are either too loose or too short. I've tried 4-5 brands of $200-$400 boots, the most respected brands in the field, and usually because they were not available in widths, none of them fit. This one does. Also, all the others had at least one pressure or rubbing point (and usually several), and so were at first somewhat uncomfortable. This one feels like a soft leather glove in comparison. Just walking around the living room, they feel PERFECT (if a little stiff). I'm sure they'll need some breaking in, but they already feel better than my current (ill-fitting) pair, after 2 years of service. I would risk a 14 mile hike, right out of the box. And compared to those other boots I tried, these are CHEAP (or rather, inexpensive). So if you require a narrow boot to achieve the comfort you deserve, and probably even if you don't, I think these Cresta hikers are the best hiking boots I've ever tried. We'll see how they hold up, but every indication is that they'll last forever. They even SMELL great. I could not recommend them more.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
I bought these boots about 6 months ago. They have a break in period of about 10 hours. Now they are some of the most comfortable footwear that I own. I have not worn them in the summer, so I can not comment about that. In the winter in Korea, they are very comfortable.
I have had these boots for about 6yrs now, I have them when I hiked in Vermont, Hew Hamphsire, Alaska and Colorado, they are comfortable and great for ankle support. After a muddy or dusty hike I just wash them off.
