ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
I've owned this pair of boots for over 2 years and I was so impressed I order two more. (Ruffout's when previously offered & later the leather/fabric).
I'm 64 years old, 5'11", 200 lbs, have a wide foot and high arch. I live in Colorado and hike in the Rocky Mtns. They've been on trails with little rocks and big rocks (this fall on Mount Massive, Leadville CO, 14000'+). No problems with feeling the little buggers through the sole. They've been in mud, rain, snow, and streams. I've used them with a light backpack and they've prevented me from twisting an ankle in some pretty tuff places. They're the most comfortable boots I've owned, all of them.... The only fly in the ointment was the "ruffout pair" (no longer offered) was about a 1/2 size to long. With LL Beans return policy I know they'd take them back for a small size, if they still offered them... I just double the socks and I'm good to go. The other 2 pair were true to size.
Highly recommended.

ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected, dry feet for sure, fit right out of the box
I've had these boots for 11 years now and they fit as good as new and they fit perfectly out of the box with no break in time needed. I hiked 33 miles in the Bridger Wilderness for 8 days and it poured rain most of them and we were up to the boot tops in many flooded spots on the trial. Out of 5 people I had the only dry feet. I will never buy anything else if mine wear out but they probably won't anytime soon.

ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected, waterproof
After 50 years of hiking the mountain West I have tried many shoes including custom made. I make long hikes with loads up to 50 lbs, on and off trail on a year round basis. The Gore-Tex Cresta Hiker meets my three shoe rules: 1. Feel good out of the box 2. Water proof 3. Good for at leats 500 miles. I am on my 4th pair and can count on getting the exact same fit each time I order. LL Bean, please continue to stock the shoe.
