I bought these in anticipation of having a WATERPROOF boot. Walking to/from my job through all seasons, I need a durable, above all, waterPROOF boot. I put about 400 miles on these & during a water testing (Weighted in a sink 1" above the ankles w/ water) , the left boot willed with water. I was disappointed as I had thought I had found The Boot. As always, LLBean returned the charge & took the boots back. Don't be afraid to try their products, as they absolutely 100% stand behind them.
I have a true 10 B foot size with a narrow heel. This boot is way too stiff at the ankle and longer than it needs to be! It is at least between a C-B width not for a Narrow foot with Narrow B heel You should not have to wear thick sock to make a $160.00 boot fit properly.Mail order shoes almost never fit unless you can try them on at a store first. Sorry I am returning them, just a tad to big all the way around for a exppensive priced boot.I work too hard for my money .My boot have fit !
I have worn these boots for over a year. When buying the most important factor was narrow width and second was all-leather. The boots are very comfortable in all seasons. I wear them on the trail almost daily and at work shined up. Very happy!
I've had these for close to a year now, and wear them every day at work. I am outdoors in all weather, and my feet are consistently dry and warm. Even in the summer, these are very comfortable. These are not sneakers, however, so don't expect them to wear that way. These are rugged shoes that give great ankle support and stability. I would wear them hiking, but mostly for rougher terrain. Long flat walks would be better handled with a slightly softer shoe. But I still wouldn't complain if I was wearing these boots. The toes get slightly scuffed over time (hey, they're work boots, right?) but otherwise they exhibit classic LL Bean durability. Yes, they are expensive, but you get what you pay for. Two thumbs up.
