I just returned from a trek to Everest Base Camp and a climb of Kala Patar. These boots were comfortable throughout the trek which ranged from warm valleys to cold and snowy conditions at high altitudes. They saved me from ankle sprains in rocky terrain yet were light enough to avoid leg fatigue on hikes as long as 17 km.
I hike hundreds of miles a year with these boots and am purchasing my third pair as I write this.
I have put these through their paces from 13k feet to swamps at sea level and they have NEVER let me down. I will be ordering these as long as they are sold.
Wish they still had the Nubuck/Raw leather option instead of the polished that is currently offered.
Have a narrow foot, so ordered the Narrow size, and they fit like a glove. First trip was a three day hike on the West Rim at Zion. Half the time, hiking in the snow. My two sons with their "other" boots had wet feet, but not me. The Cresta hikers were absolutely dry, and extremely comfortable. Great traction climbing Angels landing, I just wish I had the same ( Chickened out half way up) great stability with backpack over uneven ,often muddy, terrain. These boots are great, I love them.
I've banged up my right ankle on several occasions over the years and now it's payback time so I need a little extra support. I bought these to do a trade show in New York since no one seems to stock the Vasque Sundowners in my size and I wanted something with a little bit of a look to it. Although they gave me the ankle support I need, they seem a little "hot" in the foot pad. Even when sitting, I would notice an almost uncomfortable heat in the bottom of my foot. I ran around NY for a week in them and they wear well other than the aforementioned problem. I'll try my own inserts and see how they do.
