Finally!! A hiking boot to replace my beloved Vasque Sundowners. These boots fit me like a glove and the quality looks great. I hike, hunt and fish A LOT and I need a boot that will hold up, support my ankles, and be extremely comfortable - these are it! I am placing an order for another pair right now...
Today was my first day hiking with my latest pair of these boots. These are my third pair over the years and they're just as good as ever. The original ones were made in Italy (if I remember right), the last in China and this pair in Romania. Doesn't seem to matter where they're made as each pair were excellent! My last pair lasted over 7 years and probably could have been repaired and resoled but I decided on a new pair instead. As with my prior pairs this pair was comfortable right out of the box. I never noticed that I had a new pair of boots on today except for the soles. On my old pair the soles were worn almost smooth so gripping power of the new soles was nicely noticeable.
These are the only hiking boots I'd ever consider buying. I hope LL Bean continues selling these excellent boots for a long time to come!
First time buying a hiking boot. Read all the reviews and studied which boot to buy. I like LLBean products, so I spoke to Customer Service before buying; they were friendly and helpful. After a very brief break in, went hiking in Glacier, MT in mid-October. Couldn't have hoped for a better fit or performance. Good ankle support. My feet were always warm and comfortable.
