I own two pair. Have narrow feet, and the narrow is perfect. These are absolutely waterproof and the canvas panel ones have survived total abuse - mud, sitting cross-legged on concrete, woods and rocks, scrapes, extensive ATV 4 wheeling... I just hose them off, and every once in a while clean with saddle soap, then mink oil, and they look new. Light weight, VERY protective, good grip (though the vibram soles are a little stiff - as in sliding on sloped gravel).
I wear these almost 100% of the time I go outside, and not just for woods. I wear them to the store and about town and love the protection and support.
One thing could improve, the speed laces hook tend to be too soft and fold open or closed too easily (mostly the top two get caught on stuff). Never broke one off yet, but I know LLB would stand behind the product if I did.
I la..la. LOVE these boots . I have worn them in every season and they are the best boots I have ever owned( even though your feet do get hot in the summer with them) . They perform well in climbing situations and you can put crampons on them. The only problem I have ever had with them (over the 10 years I've own them ) is that the sole de-laminated from the leather upper boot part (which LL Bean promptly fixed). AWESOME BOOT !!!
These boots were purchased for my husband as an anniversary present. He loves them. They are comfortable and durable for all the hiking and walking he does. He would recommend these to anyone that does a like of mountain hiking...
I've had this boot for two years now and they have held up great. I wear them 6 days a week for work. They are light enough for all day comfort, stay dry in wet conditions, and are extremely wear resistant. I will definately be adding another pair to my Christmas list this year.
