I have narrow feet and the Cresta Hiker is one of very few B width hiking boots available. The boots fit well, the lacing system worksl, and the overall quality of the boot is high. In addition, the boots provide good support for a bad ankle.
I have owned this boot for over ten years and have just recently retired them, due to the leather cracking (I have been using them in construction for the last two years, without doing any maintainance on them, so the cracking was my fault) I bought them originally for hiking, put hundreds of miles in the white mountains in all seasons. The only time my feet got cold was in the winter, not standing on an insulated mat. I just replaced them with another pair, of the same thing. This bot has been the best for support, warmth and waterproofness using them to hike with a 20-60 pound pack. When this second pair runs out of life, I will purchase another pair!
I have had these boots for 4 seasons and use them a whole lot. They give my feet excellent support, and have proven themselves to be very durable. Only now, are they beginning to show wear.
I bought these boots 10 or more years ago and have worn them for thousands of miles on all sorts of trails under all conditions. I have hiked up to 20 miles in a day with up to a 35 lb pack without any problems. They have always kept my feet warm, dry and comfortable from day one. They were trail-ready right out of the box and didn't require break-in. I tried to return them for re-sole a couple years ago but they can't be re-soled due to integrated sole. This is unfortunate because the leather, while scuffed, is still good, and the insides are still fine. These boots may look old-school but they beat many other boots hands down and I've always come back to these. I just wore them on a dayhike today and decided the soles are finally worn too much for serious work. So I am buying another pair.
