This is the first field coat I've purchased from LL Bean. Some customers have said they've owned many over the years. I like the look and the fit. It's made to wear sweaters underneath and it's roomy enough for even the bulkiest sweater.
The fit is good. I'm between 6' 1" and 6' 2" and I got a regular large. That's perfect, length and sleeve-wise.
The complaints I've seen in other reviews, though, hold true. It would be warmer with a zipper and an inside pocket or a small pocket to carry keys and/or a cell phone would be great.
Given all this, I'm happy I bought it, plan to get a lot of use out of it and would get another when this one gets old and ragged.
