Originally purchased a cotton lined field coat. It was nice, but not warm enough for what I wanted. LL Bean exchanged it easily enough. I've worn the wool lined coat almost everyday since, commuting to work, walking our dog or clearing snow. Very comfortable coat.
I usually wear an extra large, so I ordered a large. When it got here it was way too big, but just right in the stomach area. Then I noticed it was imported. I do NOT have a beer belly. The sleeves came down to my finger tips and the shoulder seams almost to my elbows. I have many other LLBean items and am completely happy with them.
This is my third field coat in 30 years, so I guess they last about 10 years -- and I give them a lot of work. I added a two-way zipper to my last one, and will do the same with this one, as well as reinforcing the buttons with counter buttons on the reverse side. Except for this one weakness in the button closure (which failed on both of my previous coats long before the rest wore out), I love it!
