I bought my first field coat almost 30 years ago, and it was time to replace it. At the time I bought the first one, Bean didn't offer a removable liner, it was either the cotton or wool. So, I am happy to have the best of both with the button out lining, making this version truly a 3 season coat.
Really like the new version, with the faded, washed / worn look -- the old one was so stiff and took a while to break in.The fit is still roomy enough to wear a hooded sweatshirt underneath, too.
Gave the old one to my sister, who wears it for chores, fall picking, and Christmas tree cutting.

The coat is as advertised: good quality make and well-suited to its purpose, which for me is working outdoors with my dog. The coat does run large.

These are fabulous field coats! Over the years we have happily invested in 6 or more - reasonably priced, unisex styled and delightfully wearable!

versatile, warm, sturdy

I am on my 4th Field Coat in about 20 years. Can't live without it. Weather resistant, warm. I often wear it with a hooded sweatshirt in below freezing weather and it keeps you quite comfortable. Great for traveling.
