This is the best jacket, comfortable, durable, warm and washable. What more could you want? I've purchased four in the past, and this Christmas ordered four more.
I had an LL Bean field coat that looked just like this one for years. I needed to replace it this year, and thought this was the same coat. This one is lighter weight, so I'm not sure it will get me through single digit temperature winter days. Still a nice coat though.
It was time to clean out the old coats and make room for a new one. I was looking for one that would work in temps ranging from cool to cold. This seemed to fit the bill. As always the pkg arrived promptly and in good condition. After taking the jacket out I was pleasantly surprised that the liner was removable. Guess I missed that part of the description! The fit is near perfect with the liner installed, but is a bit on the big side with the liner removed. Not a big deal. The liner is nice and comfortable and not itchy. Wish it was washable though. The only downside to the liner is the sleeves. I don't like the nylon when wearing short sleeves. It makes me sweat much faster. The front pockets are a bit odd though. Can't say that I'm a fan of them, but they seem to work and that's what matters. The chest pocket is a joke though as others have mentioned. Not really big enough to hold anything. Maybe a can of snuff or a small pocket knife; no cell phone. The jacket material is a bit thinner and softer than I was expecting. However, it looks to be well made as most other products I've purchased so I'm gonna give it a whirl and see how it holds up.
