ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected, l l bean field coat
After 25 years, I ordered a replacement today. The original one was not totally worn out, just faded and showing age from years of use outdoors and my work and as a Scoutmaster. This is a very high-quality coat and I recommend it without reservation. My plans are to use the old faded one for yard work in the future (will not get rid of it!). I do wish the new ones had a zipper in addition to the buttons. Overall, I'd rate this coat a "10".
Nice looking coat / jacket, good for 30 - 40 degree days. For anything colder, would need to wear fleece underneath. Suggested improvements: (a) better stitching for buttons, (b) add zipper, (c) zipper on at least some of the lower pockets, to ensure that nothing falls out.

These coats run a little large. I usually wear an xl (6ft. and 210lbs.) and this coat is roomy enough for a hoodie underneath. Great material that repels water. I work for a demolition company and so far this coat has resisted water, dirt, and oil stains. Sleeves are perfect length over the wrist to keep cold air out. Wool body liner and polyester sleeve liners are warmer than I expected.It wears like an old friend right from the start.
