ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
I've owned three of these coats over the years. They didn't wear out, just wanted a new color. The old ones were given away, and are still in use. The color (saddle) is good looking. The fit is good. I've never experienced a problem with the outside buttons. The only improvement would be a zip in liner instead of the button system. Truly a Bean classic that is warm and durable. This is a go to coat for every day use.
I had one of these coats years ago that I became nostalgic for so I thought it would be nice to have one again. Although this one looks like the old one, at least in the photo, the fabric and the the color are not the same. The old one had a sturdiness that made it feel authentic, like an LL Bean product should, and the color was nice and rich. The new fabric is not only softer but in addition it's prewashed and the color has been made to fade and it is not as it appears in the photo on the web site. The color in real life is just beige and not that deep redish brown. I returned it and I was really dissappointed.
