ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
This is my 2nd coat. Its perfect. The only reason I got a new one is I lost weight. The liner is great. Easy to remove and replace. I wear the coat fall to spring.
I got this coat in saddle for Christmas 2010 from my wife. I have worn it almost every day since. Nice for cool weather, not sure I would want to be out in it in < 20° F . Color is true to website pictures, fit is true to description - room enough for a sweater or fleece when you order your regular size.
I wish all the pockets were deeper by about two or three inches - I like to put stuff in my pockets. An inside pocket would be nice, too, but I realize the trouble with that since the lining is removable.
I agree with other reviewers about the sleeve length being not quite right, if you want to fold back the corduroy cuffs without showing the liner sleeve.
Had to buy men's coat they stopped selling women's

I don't know why they stopped selling the Original Field coat for women, all they sell now is the Adirondack. The fit and quality of the Adirondack is not a good as that of the Original Field coat, most notably the Adirondack has tight sleeves and limited range of motion. The Original Field coat for women had enough room in the sleeves and the nice gusseted design to accommodate a full range of motion and under-layers for extra warmth like sweaters or a blazer. The quality of the Original Field coats is exceptional, too, well worth the extra money. Women need room to move, too, and most women hate the way their upper arms look so that area as well as the stomach/hips area should not be tight/emphasized. I usually buy a size large in the women's Original Field coat and so I bought a large in the men's size. I was thinking about getting a men's medium but was afraid there would not be enough room in the hips since men are smaller there, but the men's large fits me for the most part adequately, I don't mind that the fit is longer as I'd rather it cover more of my body for warmth and also it's more flattering at a longer length, the only problem is the sleeves are longer but I can fold them up. I particularly like the wool lining of Original Field coat for winter as it is very warm yet not bulky (for spring I switch to the one with the cotton lining). Women who are not skinny want comfortable quality outdoor clothing, too, so please bring back the Original Field coat for women!
