I don’t normally take time to write reviews on products, but this coat has been the best garment that I have ever owned. My wife purchased it for my birthday in 1986 and it is now 30 yers old. It is still the coat I pull out when I feel a chill I ware it often. The quality shows in the wearing, washing and use over the years, still looks great. Last year my wife decided to buy me a new coat for Christmas, but purchased another brand similar in looks, (mistake) it is not quality and very hard on the skin, not like my good old LLbean. Well I am now 64 and I will never need to buy any other coat, as my old coat is the best ever coat. I don’t believe that any one would go wrong with the purchase of this product.
I ordered this jacket for a light weight go to, for the milder times of a Tennessee Fall and Winter. Unfortunately, it wasn't what I was expecting ... my bad. I called LLBean and as always the staff was so easy to get along with and more than willing to help me return the jacket while ordering something that better suited my needs. The quality of the coat was more than expected, just not what I wanted and considering the outstanding customer service I still give this coat and LLBean 5 stars.
As usual with my LL Bean purchases, received exactly as advertised. Great weight coat and with removable lining, makes it a 3 season coat. The length is long enough to help keep your back pockets warm in cold weather. Flapped pockets make a great place to carry winter gloves or you can use the slash pockets as hand warmers. The material is sturdy enough to last many, many years yet allows freedom of movement.
Had a pair of hiking boots from Bean that finally wore out after 17 years and still had the original boot strings. That is what I call quality. If the coat lasts that long I won't be surprised.
I ordered this coat for my husband. It will work very well to keep him warm once it gets cold down here in south Texas. The coat is a nice weight - not too heavy. The wool liner is nice and easily removable. I am happy with the purchase.
