I gave this field jacket to my son for Christmas and he has been wearing it constantly. Loves the feel and weight -and is very warm even in this weather. I am now going to puchase one for my husband.
This coat looks fantastic for the rugged outdoorsman, but beware, if insulation is what you need, invest in the primaloft liner version. Very durable in the woods used during camping weekends and chopping woods. Keeps heavy rain off, but can weigh you down. Thick enough to keep wind out, but the nylon version is not warm enough at low temperatures, Canvas design prevents tearing when twigs and branches attempt to tear holes.
I've had this jacket for over 10 years and I'm finally going to replace it . Best jacket I've ever owned for comfort, warmth and durability. The only reason I'm replacing it is due to over 100 washings! It's finally faded a little! You can't get a better jacket for working outside than this one!
