I gave this coat to my husband several years ago and it looks brand new. Whenever my sons come to visit they wear it. It has worn well and is perfect in spring or fall because the lining zips out. This year I bought one for my youngest son for Christmas. I heartily recommend it.
I am purchasing a replacement for the field coat that I purchased from LL Bean over 15 years ago at the Freeport Maine Outlet. It never fails whether out doing farm chores, knocking about town, or just needing a blanket to snuggle under. This is one product that defies obsolescence.
I purchased this coat for my husband just about 10 years ago. He loves it. It's the pefect coat for him to do "boy" things outside like lawn work and snow blowing. I did purchase one of the lighter colors, which wasn't the smartest thing I could have done. The number of years, and the fact that he's not the neatest guy around has taken a toll. So, for the holiday I'm purchasing a second (darker color) coat for him. The old coat can remain his "work around the yard coat" and the new one can be the "go out in public with the wife coat". See... everyone wins!
I've had this coat for at least five years and it has held up very well. It's a good coat for yard work or bouncing around town. It will keep you warm on all but the coldest days as long as you're active.
The pockets are nice and deep for bulky items like a small pair of binoculars or field guide for bird watching. Just wish it was American made; you know... an original field coat should be.
